365 Project – A Day in the Life
The 365 project is exactly as it sounds….365 days of photos. One photo each day for a whole year. No excuses, take the photo, document life. It’s been 5 years since I did my first 365 project back in 2012 (or 366 at the time since it was a leap year!) and I have been inspired to do it again this year by another local photographer and mumma. It was a huge learning experience for me then as I was still pretty new to photography and finding my style. My main subjects were landscapes and random abstracts to learn new technical skills. This time, I will focus on authentic and candid photography with emphasis on emotion and story telling through real life captures. On January 4th we welcomed our second child to the world and I plan to document my children daily for 365 days from this date. No posing, no direction, just real life. Becoming a mother has been the most wonderful, challenging, magical thing in my life and watching them grow has been so incredible. To capture their day to day lives and document this year will be an incredible keepsake to look back on again and again, as I am guilty of not documenting our own lives enough. I have already had many tears over them growing up too fast and watching them change before my eyes. What better way to follow these changes than by doing what I love most and photographing them? Join me here for daily updates, if I can do it daily! Might be late posting here and there but I am going to try my best to take the photo daily and capture a true moment each day that passes. The 365 project is such a challenge and day to day life often gets in the way, but I have done it before with less important subjects and I know I can do it again! Here we go….
